McGowan S – 1911
BB Gazette Vol.20 No.1 – The Brigade Executive have awarded the Cross for Heroism to Private Samuel McGowan, aged 15, 1st Newton Stewart Company, for rescuing a Boy from drowning in the Gill Pool in the River Cree, on 28th May, 1911.
