Young J – 1911
BB Gazette Vol.19 No.10 – The Brigade Executive have awarded the Cross for Heroism to Sergeant-Piper John M. Young, aged 17, 86th Glasgow Company, for rescuing a fellow workman from a position of great danger on the roof of a four-storey building, on 17th January, 1911. Sergeant Young has also been awarded a Silver Watch and £5 from the Carnegie Hero Fund.
