2020 – BBatHOME

In response to the Covid Pandemic and the lockdown, on Friday 20th March The Boys’ Brigade launched #BBatHOME a new programme to enable The Boys’ Brigade to continue to reach out to members and non-members alike with opportunities to learn, grow and discover through a balanced programme of activities in their own homes supported by their parents/carers

To support the #BBatHOME programme, guidance for leaders on how to delivery the programme to members through their parents/carers as well as how to setup and host interactive virtual sessions with children & young people was made available through the BB website.

The response was positive, and the programe continued into 2021, and through to the return to face to face BB meetings. The #BBatHOME programme resulted in 100’s of activities being made available for Anchors, Juniors and Company & Seniors, with members and non-members alike getting involved, trying out the weekly activities, entering competitions and engaging with our devotional videos. The programme was designed to enable the BB group to stay connected as well as reaching out into the wider community to support children and young people through the challenging times. Many of the activities encourage the results to be shared on social media using the hashtag #BBatHOME

BBatHome, and the online opportunities have proved to be a great way of sharing learning and experiences with leaders across the country.  The Brigade as a whole has experienced the value of online support and training and this is an area which has already been included in the new strategic plan moving forward.
